The Return to Familiarisation

Yesterday was quite a big day as we both returned to physical networking at our group in Stansted. The nerves and excitement of being in a room full of people (not relatives) for the first time in about 9 months brought in us a desire to make it count more than ever.

Before the meeting…

As you might expect, one of the things we promote is our Presentation Skills Workshop (check on the website homepage for current dates) and there was a moment where we both felt we had to make sure we could walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

Sarah’s just getting warmed up!!

Well… we need not have worried. Jim was hosting and it all ran smoothly with two visitors joining the group and Sarah did a presentation. The topic was Digitising Home Photos, Slides and Negatives. She guided everyone seamlessly through each type and received a huge round of applause afterwards, followed by calls for her to tour other networking groups to deliver the presentation again!

Not only did we both remind everyone what we can do, but we also had someone book onto the September workshop there and then!!

… in full flow…

Pretty good going eh?

It’s because we know why we are doing what we do. We have a goal and understand our ‘call to action’. Remember what it is you want to achieve from your talk, speech or pitch. We did…
